Maples All Mapped Out
Would you know how to find your way using a map? Surprisingly, this skill is harder than it might
look, trying to work out key features and deciding which way to turn. Left, right, straight on?
Who knows?!
At Greatwood, there are many different varieties of trees around the site and it is important
that we know where each tree is so we can help protect them from pests and potential damage.
This term has seen Charlotte create her own map of Greatwood to show others where to find
important trees common to the area. Carefully drawing a map of the yard, Charlotte was able to
label certain trees that she saw whilst out and about. She was surprised at how many different
varieties of trees there are, from Maples to Oaks, each one growing tall and proud.
Now Charlotte has created such a great map, we will be able to continue to care for our trees, at
a time when nature needs our help. Fantastic work Charlotte, well done!
