Greatwood
D i gg i n g f o r V i c t o r y
As the spring draws near students are beginning to prepare the vegetable garden. They have
been learning about World War 2 and how the government encouraged families to grow their
own fruit and vegetables.
Laylah and Izzy have been keen to dig for their own victory and have been taking the upmost
care to prepare the
Greatwood
garden beds.
After weeding the soil using different techniques such as hoeing and hand forking, they can be
seen here putting the manure onto the top. We are hoping for such tasty and delicious
vegetables as the fertiliser they are using has been produced by our own animals!
Thank you to these two young ladies and to all the students who are involved in the
Horticulture course.
