Super Scott safely leads Shetlands
Leading a Shetland Pony is one thing, but trying to negotiate a closed gate and a Shetland at the
same time is a whole different story. So how would Scott cope with this challenge? Well, it turns
out that Scott is quite the master at this skill.
Before undertaking this task with one of our Shetlands, Scott read through a step by step guide
on how to lead a horse through a gate safely. Highlighting the key areas to remember, helped
Scott to recall the stages when working with the Shetland.
Safely and with confidence, Scott caught Poncho, our willing candidate for this exercise and led
him through the yard to the ménage, where he was to perform this tricky skill. With the step by
step guide replaying through his mind, Scott took each stage one step at a time and expertly
negotiated the gate, entering the ménage. Throughout the task, Scott took great care in ensuring
that Poncho was kept calm and unharmed, as the gate could easily have swung open, injuring and
scaring the Shetland.
Well done Super Scott for safely leading Poncho through a closed gate. Keep up the good work!
