Step Up to success
The end of the year seemed a long way away for our shy and nervous students who walked through our
doors back in September 2012. But here we are, celebrating the student’s achievements in the summer
of 2013.
The students have come a long way since the beginning and have overcome many challenges along the
way. There have been the hard times, the cold times, the challenging time, but most importantly there
have many fun times! All 8 students, with little or no equine experience have persevered preparing the
animal accommodations, grooming the Thoroughbreds and Shetlands, and caring with the small residents
on the farm, gaining new skills along the way which will help them in the outside world.
It has not just been about the animals however. Students have learnt many life skills that will enable
them to become more confident young adults, who will have the passion and desire to continue to
succeed into the future.
A huge congratulations to all students on our Monday Step Up course. You have done extremely well in
achieving the Level 1 NOCN Step Up Award. Keep up the good work!
