Greatwood
Uplands Undertake Ultimate Challenge
There is a huge focus on preparing students for life in the work place. Skills such as
communication and teamwork are vital skills to possess in any job and it is important that we can
provide many opportunities for students to build on these skills in a supportive and encouraging
environment.
This new academic year has seen 6 enthusiastic students from Uplands school begin the
Greatwood Engagement course- a course designed to provide chances for students to experience
life in a working yard whilst gaining many skills throughout the year long course
They have all got off to a flying start, undertaking a ‘Taster Day’ where they experienced what it
is like to muck out the animals, pick up the poo in the paddock and groom the Thoroughbreds-
true Greatwood Grooms! Undertaking teamwork challenges along the way, they have all excelled
and applied themselves to all tasks with determination to succeed.
A great start to the course Uplands.
Keep up the good work and be sure to be ready for the next challenge!
